Speaking at the 4th Ordinary Congress of HDP, HDK Co-Spokesperson Sedat Şenoğlu emphasized that the peoples have come together in the congress and stressed that they are standing tall because they are standing together. DTK Co-Chair Berdan Öztürk said: "The problems can only be solved when the isolation is removed. Mr. Öcalan is the only solution."
HDP Co-Chair Pervin Buldan, calling on to all political parties for alliance, except AKP and MHP at the 4th Ordinary Congress of her party, said: "Not just the cities, we are coming to rule this country, and we will rule this country."
HDP Co-Chair Sezai Temelli, who will hand over the office to Mithat Sancar, said: "I was Sezai Temelli on this road that we started two years ago, thanks to you, I became Heval (Comrade) Sezai. I will continue to be at the service of this honorable and proud people."
HDP aims to be renewed in accordance with the declaration announced on November 20, 2019 and its call for "early elections", by leaving its "make win or make lose" position at its congress today.
HDP Kocaeli Deputy Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu stated that the state mechanism had completely collapsed and said that the September 12 period was far better than this.
ESP and SYKP co-chairs, which are the component parties of HDP that will hold its grand congress on Sunday, emphasized the responsibility of expanding the political and organizational field to "take the government down."
Stating that Turkey's Syria policy is doomed to failure, while the people pay the price for this, HDP deputy Tülay Hatimoğulları said, "Government has only carried war and violence to the region. There is a need for administrations that will carry peace and brotherhood."
Calling for a joint struggle for the freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, TJA stated that the aggravated isolation imposed upon Öcalan is the prevention against the pursuit of rights and freedom of women, the struggle, the organization and the democracy.
Lawyer Ercan Kanar pointed out that the trial of Abdullah Öcalan began with his handing over to Turkey was against the law with all its aspects from the very beginning as the decision was given before the trial, but the ones who prepared this conspiracy could not achieve their goals.
Many people, including HDP co-chairmen, were taken into custody in house raids in Diyarbakır and Dersim.
Indicating that PKK Leader Öcalan does not call the situation in İmralı as “captivity”, Sırrı Süreyya Önder, a member of the İmralı Delegation, said, “Captivity for his literature means not being able to think, concentrate and produce. However, we witness that every moment of him passes with concentration on the future of the country, the region and the peace".
Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chair Sezai Temelli resembled what is happening in Turkey to Picasso's Guernica and added, "If people are setting themselves on fire saying that my children are hungry, this is a shame for that country. That's exactly what we are supposed to do, to reverse this suffering and this course of events upside down" he said.
In his assessment of the "Middle East Peace Plan” Prof. Dr. İlhan Uzgel stated: “Even though a two-state solution have been voiced under this plan, but this does not include a state project in the sense that we understand. A governance under Israeli pressure that could not be even considered as autonomy.”
HDP, which determines the fate of the İBB (Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality) elections, has completed its congresses in many districts of Istanbul. HDP Provincial Co-Chair Erdal Avcı pointed out that despite all the pressures, the party is embraced strongly by the people in the congresses and said: “Our congresses strengthen us.”
Giving a speech at the Cizre congress of his party, HDP Co-chair Sezai Temelli said that the Kurdish people will not live without a recognized status for another century and continued: "If you want to solve whatsoever problem in this country, you should first solve the Kurdish problem."
