NEWS CENTER- Syrian Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan and Syrian Lawyer’s Initiative have completed the “I want to visit Ocalan” campaign launched on 20 August.
The signature campaign launched on 20 August in Syria as part of the "I want to visit Ocalan" campaign for meeting with Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan has ended. Speaking to Hawar News Agency (ANHA) Ferzende Munzur, spokesperson of the Syrian Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Öcalan, stated that more than 2 thousand people have signed the petition and that the exact number will be announced on 21 September.

Stating that lawyers,academics, politicians, inctellectuals, tribal leaders, religious people, doctors, engineers and representatives of different faiths and communities supported the campaign, Munzur noted that prominent figures from Kurdish, Arab, Syriac, Assyrian, Êzidî (Yazidi), Turkmen, Circassian, Sunni, Alevi, Ismaili, Druze and Christian communities also took part in the campaign with their signatures.
Munzur stated that not only the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) cantons but also different provinces of Syria such as Damascus, Aleppo, Homs, Latakia, Tartus, Daraa, Quneitra, Idlib and Suwayda participated in the campaign and that the collected signatures will be submitted to the United Nations (UN) Secretariat General, the European Union, the UN Human Rights Council, the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) and the Turkish Ministry of Justice.
