WASHINGTON - In the statement made by the Rojava Emergency Committee in front of the White House, the freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Ocalan was demanded and the US was called to end its complicity in Turkey's attacks on Northern and Eastern Syria.

The Rojava Emergency Committee made a statement in front of the White House in Washington, the US capital, regarding the absolute isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Ocalan and Turkey's attacks on Northern and Eastern Syria. The statement supported by Kurds and their supporters was also supported by members and representatives of the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) and Metro DC Democratic Socialists of America (Metro DC DSA). Before the statement, chants of "Bijî Serok Apo" were raised in front of the White House.

'US ALSO HAS A RESPONSIBILITY'

Seyit Rıza Dersimi, a member of the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK), made the statement on behalf of the committee. Reacting to the isolation imposed on PKK Leader Ocalan, Dersimi said: “Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Ocalan has been in Imralı for 25 years and there has been no news from him for three years. The US also had a role in the kidnapping of Abdullah Ocalan and cannot shake off the responsibility for this.”

'WE WANT FREEDOM OF OCALAN'

Saying that Abdullah Ocalan's aim was to make peace, but he was responded to with war, Dersimi said: “The international conspiracy still continues. There is not a single day that the Turkish state does not attack Medya Defense Areas and Rojava. We want Abdullah Ocalan's freedom and for the United States to end its complicity in the Turkish state's war against the Kurds.”
