NEWS CENTER - AKP Chair and President Tayyip Erdoğan congratulated the judiciary on the appointment of trustees to municipalities.

Justice and Development Party (AKP) Chair and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan answered the questions of journalists on his plane after his visits to Kyrgyzstan and Hungary. Answering a question about the attacks on northern and eastern Syria, Erdoğan said: “Nothing will change in our fight against terrorism. We will continue our determination in the same way. This 30-40 kilometre depth issue will continue. As of now, our struggle to enter the depths in Syria and Iraq, to follow the terrorists there and to dry terrorism at its source continues without compromise. As we have expressed in words, we are also demonstrating de facto that we will not allow the establishment of a terrorist state beyond our borders.”

CONGRATES TO THE JUDICIARY

Erdoğan was asked about the municipalities run by the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) and the appointment of trustees to Esenyurt Municipality.

“We said something during the election campaign. We said; 'the one who deserves the office will definitely sit in the office, but the one who does not deserve it, who abuses his office, will definitely pay the price. The judiciary, chief prosecutors and prosecutors are showing a very serious resilience in this regard. I congratulate the judiciary for their resilience. I believe that they are gaining the trust of my people with the steps they have taken and the distance they have covered in this process. Because if the judiciary stands upright, the trust of my people in the judiciary will continue to increase,” Erdoğan said.

Erdoğan said: “We are all following the judicial decisions, evidence, allegations, information and documents and the investigations carried out against the named individuals. We cannot expect the judiciary to ignore these grave allegations and crimes that have now come to light. The opposition should not try to put the judiciary under pressure for doing its duty. Especially threatening prosecutors, targeting and insulting people of law is thuggery. We will not succumb to these pressures and insults. We will maintain our political courtesy to the end, but we will not tolerate the politics of threats.”
