36 thousand signatures for Pexshan Ezîzî and Şerife Muhammadi

NEWS CENTER - 36 thousand signatures were collected as part of the campaign against the death sentences given to Kurdish journalist Pexshan Ezîzî and activist Şerife Muhemmedi in Iran. 
 
As reactions against the Iranian regime's death sentences against journalist Pexshan Ezîzî and activist Şerife Muhemmedi grow, the Women's Press Union (YRJ) announced the results of the “No to Death” campaign launched in this context. 
 
In the statement, it was reminded that women journalists operating under the umbrella of YRJ in North and East Syria launched a signature campaign on August 12. 
 
In the statement, it was stated that in addition to North and East Syria, there was a great participation from the four parts of Kurdistan, Middle Eastern countries, Asia and Africa. “Our campaign, which was planned to end on August 19, was extended upon the demand of many institutions and organizations and women's rights defenders,” the statement said, adding that the campaign, which lasted 14 days, ended on August 26. 
 
“As a result of the campaign, 36,398 signatures were collected from journalists, civil society and women's organizations, legal organizations, politicians, intellectuals, activists, independent personalities and citizens in Europe from Middle Eastern countries such as Northern and Eastern Syria, four parts of Kurdistan, Lebanon, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia,” the statement said. 
 
The signatures will be sent to the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), Human Rights Watch (HRW) and Reporters Without Borders.
