ISTANBUL- The number of people detained within the scope of the investigation launched after the Santa Maria Church attack increased to 51.
The number of people detained within the scope of the investigation launched after the armed attack on the Sunday service at the Santa Maria Italian Church in Sarıyer, Istanbul, increased to 51. Murat Cihan, one of those who attended the service, lost his life as a result of the fire opened by two people wearing ski masks at the church.
Shortly after the attack, operations were carried out at many addresses belonging to people who were found to be connected to the incident.
23 OF THOSE DETAINED WILL BE DEPORTED
Tajikistani A.K. and Russian D.T. were detained along with 51 people who were found to be involved in the attack. While it was determined that the detainees were citizens of Tajikistan, Russia and Turkey, it was learned that 23 of the suspects were handed over to the deportation center for deportation. 28 suspects are still being processed at the police station.
