TEKIRDAG - Ali Manaz, a 30-year prisoner whose release was postponed for 6 months, is released from Tekirdağ Prison.
Prisoner Ali Manaz, who was arrested in the Celikhan district of Semsûr in 1993 and sentenced to life imprisonment by the State Security Court (DGM) on the charge of "disrupting the unity and integrity of the State", is released from Tekirdağ Type F High Security Prison. Manaz, whose release was previously postponed for 6 months, is welcomed in front of the prison by his family, Marmara Assistance and Solidarity Association with Detainee and Convict Families (MATUHAYDER) Co-President Mehmet Şafi Erol and the association's executives.
Manaz, who was held in many prisons in Turkey throughout his years of captivity, said in a short speech in front of the prison that their morale was very good. Manaz said: “Especially the morale of our friends in prison is great, considering the process. My friends who are held inside send their greetings to you. Our hope is that everyone will be released.”
