IZMIR - Regarding the attacks on the bodies of those who lost their lives in the conflicts, Imam Ferzende Deniz said: "There is a law in war. This is a sign of barbarism."

 

While Turkey's attacks on the Zap, Avaşîn, Metîna and Xakûrkê regions of the Federated Kurdistan Region continue, the bodies of those who lost their lives in the conflicts are frequently displayed on militarist and racist social media accounts. Condemning the situation, Imam Ferzende Deniz, Spokesperson of the Izmir Religious Scholars Association, said that those who exposed the lifeless bodies were "people who lack morality, conscience and compassion."

 

'EXPOSING OF BODIES IS IMMORALITY'

 

Stating that a dead person has immunity, Deniz said: "In wars, the parties take a break to prevent corpses from being damaged by animals. War also has its law. If you cut off the limbs of your enemy, you have no morality or conscience. This is a sign of barbarism. ISIS was also killing people by chanting takbir and exposing their bodies. No matter who does it, it is immoral."

 

Emphasizing that the isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan must end in order to end the conflicts, Deniz said: "Laws are not for an individual, but for society. Even if you are detained, you have the rights given by the law. These are also valid for Öcalan. Many people see Abdullah Öcalan as a guide. For this reason, isolation is applied not only to one person, but to many segments of society. In order to end the war, isolation must be lifted and the path of dialogue must be opened."
