AMED - The Imprisoned women in Tarsus, who are on a rotating hunger strike, said: "Just as those who created this lawlessness want to turn every place into an isolation area in İmralı, we will turn every place into a resistance area in İmralı."

The rotating hunger strike action launched in prisons to demand the physical freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who is held in isolation in İmralı Type F High Security Closed Prison, has entered the 22nd day. Prisoners who took part in the protest at Tarsus Women's Closed Prison in Mersin, demanding "freedom for Abdullah Öcalan", emphasized in their message that it was important to start the campaign in such a period.

Emphasizing that the isolation in İmralı continues throughout the geography where Kurds live, the prisoners said: “We are being asked to get used to a life without a leader, and for this reason, we are expected to see the isolation that has been going on for 3 years as normal. Everyone should know that we do not accept this situation and we will always resist it."

'RAISE THE VOICE OF RESISTANCE'

Drawing attention that the isolation policies implemented in İmralı have spread to all prisons, the prisoners said: “The Kurdish people are wanted to be left breathless. Just as those who created this lawlessness want to turn every place into an isolated area in Imrali, we will turn every place into a resistance area in Imrali because we take inspiration from İmralı. As prisoners in Tarsus, we will support the action demanding freedom with the rotating hunger strikes. We also express our reaction against severe isolation, not releasing ill prisoners and single-person prisons. This is our call to our families and people, to raise the voice of resistance against these oppressions."
