Tells PJAK meeting: Freedom is only possible through national unity

NEWS CENTER – Dr. Şêrko Heme Emîn, a member of the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) delegation that recently met with PJAK (Kurdistan Free Life Party) officials, spoke to media about the importance of Kurdish unity. “Peace, freedom, and equality are only possible through national unity,” he said.

The KNK delegation—comprising Zeynep Mustafa, Dr. Şêrko Heme Emîn, Nesrin Ahmed, and Şoreş Xidir—continues its efforts to strengthen national dialogue among Kurdish political entities. Their latest round of talks with PJAK focused on enhancing cooperation and developing a unified strategy among Kurdish movements.

‘UNITY IS A STRATEGIC NECESSITY’

Speaking about the meeting, Dr. Emîn underlined the urgency of joint political efforts. “We discussed the political, cultural, and social rights of Kurds, regional security issues, external threats, and internal challenges,” he stated. He added that there was strong consensus between PJAK and KNK on many critical points, particularly the need for solidarity and joint struggle.

“Dispersed action weakens us both politically and socially,” Dr. Emîn noted. “When united, we can raise a stronger voice both domestically and on the international stage. That would give us a real advantage in defending our rights and achieving democratic gains.”

A COMMON STRATEGY FOR EASTERN KURDISTAN

Touching on recent regional developments, Dr. Emîn referred to the aftermath of Israel’s attacks on Iran. “This 12-day war accelerated the urgency of unity. That’s why KNK is meeting with all relevant actors in Eastern Kurdistan—from revolutionary groups to labor organizations—to establish coordinated action, especially in diplomacy, military affairs, and leadership,” he said.

‘WE MUST PREVENT INTERNAL CONFLICT’

According to Emîn, there was clear agreement with PJAK and others that intra-Kurdish disagreements must never escalate into armed conflict. “KNK is working to ensure all sides operate under a shared framework,” he said. “This will allow Kurds to become a strong actor in the major changes sweeping across the Middle East.”

Emîn concluded with a message to the Kurdish people: “Whatever the hardships, they can only be overcome through unity. Freedom, peace, and equality can only be achieved when we stand together.”
