'Right to Hope' must be ensured says Ayse Celikbilek

AMED - DBP Central Executive Committee member Ayse Celikbilek stated that the state, one of the interlocutors of the historic call, must take steps now, and said that Abdullah Öcalan's conditions must be improved by applying the "right to hope".

More than a month has passed since Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan's "Call for Peace and Democratic Society" made with the İmralı Delegation on 27 February. While the state wing has not taken any steps in the intervening time, Kurds and their friends have embraced the call in the fields.

Describing Abdullah Öcalan's call as a manifesto, Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Central Executive Committee (MYK) member Ayse Celikbilek said, "This call revealed the solution to the problems in Kurdistan, Turkey, the Middle East and the world. One of the most important emphases in the call eas common life. The Kurdish people fulfilled their responsibility and took a position that took responsibility by supporting the call of the Kurdish People's Leader."

Emphasising that the government and the state must take concrete steps, Ayse Celikbilek reacted to the continued isolation in İmralı despite the call. Underlining that the Kurds' biggest expectation is for the operations to stop and the "right to hope" to be ensured, Ayse Celikbilek said, "The situation of all prisoners, especially the ill prisoners in prison, must be clarified. Since we see that the state has not taken a correct step, there is a concern that 'we will experience a similar situation to the 2013 process'. This concern comes to the fore in the society. The way to eliminate this is to take mutual steps. In the next process, steps are expected from the system and the state."

RIGHT TO HOPE

Ayse Celikbilek added, "The Kurdish People's Leader's working conditions need to evolve into a ground where he can comfortably discuss this process with his own party, the people, the press and many other groups, exchange ideas and share his thoughts. This is the biggest expectation at the moment. But still no step has been taken for the 'right to hope'. Until today, mutual prices have been paid and mutual losses have been experienced. All of these have been carried out as a part of the war. We believe that all problems can be solved with the current manifesto of 'Peace and Democratic Society'. We will work for the construction of the call. As women, we are ready to fulfil all our responsibilities."
