ANKARA - His nephew Ömer Öcalan revealed some details of his meeting with Abdullah Öcalan for the first time in Parliament and said Öcalan is ready to take the initiative for a solution and added: "Will the authorities prepare this ground or not? The issue is knotted here."

Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Riha (Urfa) MP Ömer Öcalan announced the details of his meeting with PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan in İmralı on 23 October and the details of the proposals for the solution of the Kurdish issue in the Parliament.

Ömer Öcalan pointed to the developments in Syria and said that the Syrian war has entered a new phase. Ömer Öcalan said that this was has worsened due to Turkey's intervention, adding that Turkey calls the Kurds "brothers", but it has driven paramilitary groups such as ISIS and FSA against the Kurds and caused massacres.

DETAILS OF THE MEETING

Ömer Öcalan also revealed some details of his meeting with Abdullah Öcalan for the first time. Ömer Öcalan stated that PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan evaluated Kurdish-Turkish relations from Sultan Sencer, Melikşah, Idris-i Bitlisî, Yavuz Sultan Selim, Abdülhamid Han and Mustafa Kemal and said: "He evaluated Kurdish-Turkish alliances, he evaluated how Kurds and Turks came to this stage together. He clearly evaluated the alliances, relations and the problems experienced from time to time. He had suggestions for solutions. He said 'we can solve this problem through dialogue'."

Ömer Öcalan quoted PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan as saying the following during the meeting: "We could have solved this problem in 2000, and in 1999 I said I would serve to solve the Kurdish-Turkish issue. But they took it to a different level. They said; Apo is doing this to save himself.' This is where we are now, this is the issue that is still being discussed in Parliament. The year is 2024; There is still wr, still no solution, still conflict."

Ömer Öcalan stated that PKK Leader Öcalan clearly conveyed to him that he was in good spirits, strong and in command of the agenda and that he would take the initiative in solving the problems and Ömer Öcalan said that Abdullah Öcalan stated the following: "Of course, when we talked about the terms and conditions in our message, I do not mean these terms and conditions for my own person. I do not mean them for personal terms and conditions; I made evaluations towards the preparation of the solution environment. Some journalists, who referred to themselves as 'opposition media', evaluated this meeting in a manipulative way. Some of them evaluated it as a third country, some as a guarantor country, some made different evaluations in their own way. Of course, the ruling media also tried to distort this meeting from its own perspective, but the issue is serious. We have a historical process ahead of us; we can turn this historical process into a great, honourable peace in a positive sense; beyond that, no one wants to think about it anyway."

"Of course, Gaza was discussed, the Middle East was discussed, evaluations were made about Israel; evaluations were made about the Kurds in Iraq, the Kurds in Syria and the Kurds in Iran. Their propositions were the most reasonable propositions. Their analyses were the most reasonable ones. Will the Turkish government or Turkish authorities, Turkish state authorities come to this or not? Will they prepare this ground or not? The issue is somewhat knotted here. Of course, he also mentioned Rojava; he closely follows the developments in Syria. He dominates the agenda with a few television channels he follows."

Ömer Öcalan said: "Armenians, Assyrians, Yazidis were mentioned. In fact, the entire Middle East was mentioned. It was an approach that treated differences as a richness. Look, fifty days have passed since 23 October. Four and a half years had passed since the previous meeting. All the peoples of Turkey should know that these issues cannot be solved with the isolation method and some different liquidation policies. There have already been great losses and people are still losing their lives in this geography."

Öcalan warned that Kurds have started to lose faith that their problems can be solved by democratic means and methods and said: "While we want to believe, we look at the field, we look at Rojava, bombs are falling every day. Assassinations are being carried out and this causes the belief in a solution to regress instead of growing. As a party, we want to play a role in the democracy and future of this country. Everyone is ready. Some speculations are being made through the media. We are doing politics within democratic politics, within the constitutional framework. His organization (PKK) has also declared that it will stand behind Mr Öcalan's decisions and statements until the end. But some people are making different statements in order to muddy the atmosphere."
