ANKARA – DEM Party MP Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu visited Emine Şenyaşar, who continues her struggle for justice, and asked Numan Kurtulmuş, the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, “Stand by your mother. Why are you silent?” he asked.
The Justice Watch of Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were murdered and one son was arrested in an attack by the bodyguards and relatives of former AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in Pirsûs (Suruç) district of Riha on June 14, 2018, is on its 8th day.
Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Kocaeli MP Ömer Faruk Gergerelioğlu visited Şenyaşar.
'WE ARE WITH THEM'
Speaking during the visit, Gergerlioğlu stated that everyone turned a blind eye to Emine Şenyaşar's demand for justice and said: “We stand by them. After so much lawlessness and injustice, a step is expected from Parliament Speaker Mr. Numan Kurtulmuş. Why doesn't he take a step? Emine Şenyaşar has undergone four surgeries since the day she started the protest and is turning 70 years old. She has undergone four surgeries, but she did not give up the struggle, she did not give up, she did not back down. As a mother, she is doing alone what no one else can do. Her two sons and husband were cruelly and despicably murdered.”
WHY IS NO ACTION BEING TAKEN?
Stating that a mother is waiting for justice at the gate of the Parliament, Gergerlioğlu said: “Let the whole world see this. It has now reached the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. The mother has taken refuge in the will of the nation, the decision of the nation. Why is no step being taken? Why is the Speaker of the Parliament silent? Mother Emine has achieved a tremendous resistance for justice all by herself and challenged the world. I invite Mr. Chairman Numan Kurtulmuş to stand by her side.”
Speaking afterwards, Emine Şenyaşar reiterated her demand for justice.
