A new lawsuit was filed against journalists Nilüfer Hamedi and Ilahe Muhammed, who reported on the murder of Jina Emini in Iran, hours after their release. Jina Emini, who was detained in the capital Tehran on September 16, 2022, for not complying with the headscarf rules, died as a result of the torture she was subjected to in the detention center where she was taken. Women journalists Nilüfer Hamedi and Ilahe Muhammed, who announced Emini's murder to the public, were detained and arrested by the Iranian regime. Women journalists were released on 10 billion tomans bail on January 14, after 17 months of detention.

 

Mizan News Agency announced that a new lawsuit was filed against two journalists on the grounds that they published photos without complying with the headscarf rules after they were released from Evin Prison in Tehran, and reported that Muhammed and Hamedi were banned from going abroad.
