AMED - The Free Women's Movement (Tevgera Jinên Azad -TJA) will organize an international conference under the title "Chain of Silence: Tearing Down the Walls Around Women Political Prisoners" on 13-14 January 2024 at the Demir Hotel in Sur district of Amed with national and international participants.
MARTINA ANDERSON WILL OPEN
The conference will begin with the opening speech of Martina Anderson, member of the European Parliament and former MP. On the first day of the conference, panels will be held under the titles "A look at today's prisons in Turkey", "Experiences and struggles of political women prisoners", "National-international law in political trials and arrests".
During the two-day conference, human rights violations suffered by women political prisoners from Turkey and various parts of the world will be brought to the agenda. At the conference, where it is aimed to share the experiences, struggles and resistance of women prisoners at international and local levels, effective advocacy strategies and methods in different fields such as media, art and law will also be discussed.
Panelists from the Philippines, Palestine, Colombia, Spanish Basque Country, Catalonia, Iran and Southern Kurdistan will attend the conference.
