Rojnews' Arabic Service editor Süleyman Ahmet was detained by the KDP security forces at the Sêmalka Border Gate while returning to the Federated Kurdistan Region from his family living in Northern and Eastern Syria on October 25. The Duhok public order, affiliated with the KDP, made a statement 6 days later, drawing attention that Ahmet was detained and claimed that "it has nothing to do with journalism." No other statement has been made about Ahmet since October 25. No information is given to his relatives, colleagues or lawyers about his situation.
