INSULT, CURSING, BATTERY
Objecting to this situation, Gezen said: "The guards took us to the ward corridor, where we were handcuffed behind our backs and forced to lie down on the ground. We were beaten when we condemned insults and curses during this time, and after a long period of insults, swearing and violence, they were put in solitary cells and kept there for 2 days."
'THE TORTURE CAN HAPPEN AGAIN!'
Kenan Maçoğlu, a member of the Ankara Branch of the Association of Lawyers for Freedom (ÖHD), to whom Gezen's family told their experiences and requested legal support, went to the prison to meet with the prisoners. Maçoğlu confirmed the torture incident from the prisoners he met.
Maçoğlu also shared that the prisoners are worried that the torture will happen again at any time.
INVESTIGATION ON TORTURED PRISONERS
When he asked to meet with the prison director regarding the issue, Maçoğlu was given the answer: "There is no director." Maçoğlu shared that the chief officer he met with informed him that a judicial and administrative investigation had been launched against both the guards and the prisoners who were tortured, and that a disciplinary investigation had also begun against the prisoners.
