RIHA - Condemning the attacks of special forces affiliated with the KDP, members of the Peace Mothers' Assembly said: "Every time a Kurd is killed in Bashur, the KDP is behind it. Betrayal must be stopped."
Following the visit of Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to the Federated Kurdistan Region on August 24, military activity in the region increased. Special forces affiliated with the KDP sent approximately 200 armored vehicles from Deşta Heyatê and Deşta Herîrê to Sîdekan in the Bradost region on September 14. Tanks, panzers, trucks and armored vehicles equipped with military equipment such as cannons and cannons were deployed in Sîdekan district in the Bradost area. A conflict broke out after KDP's special forces were sent to the Sîdekan region with heavy weapons. Forces affiliated with KDP attacked HPG positions in Gewriya Zîne in the Goşîne area, and a conflict broke out afterwards. KDP's attacks caused condemnation. Condemning what happened, members of the Riha Peace Mothers Assembly called on the KDP to "end the attacks".
'BETRAYAL MUST BE STOPPED'
Reminding that KDP has been involved in similar attacks many times before, Meyaser Korkmaz (52) said. “We have been faced with the betrayal of the Barzanis since the day we opened our eyes. This betrayal was committed against all Kurds. This betrayal must be stopped. The people of Bashur must rise up against this betrayal. Barzani is trying to establish himself through the blood of the Kurds. This is my call to Barzani; "Stop these attacks."
'KDP IS MAKING THE WAY'
Stating that the attacks were not independent of the isolation policy applied to PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who was held in İmralı F-Type High Security Closed Prison, Peace mother Adalet Çay (63) said: “Many of these problems will be solved by meeting with Mr. Öcalan. However, if there is a meeting with Mr. Öcalan, this bloodshed will stop. The war should be stopped. Thanks to Mr. Öcalan, we recognized our identity and took care of each other. We recall the meeting of Federated Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrur Barzani with AKP President Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara on June 20, 2023. Turkey is exploiting Bashur. KDP tanks are trying to enter areas they cannot enter with their artillery. KDP is trying to open roads to places Turkey cannot enter in order to kill PKK members. There are no trees left in Bashur due to the chemicals used. Let them not forget; One day, Türkiye will turn its guns and tanks on those who help them. They will also face the same attacks."
Another mother, Fatma Akbaş (59), who emphasized that the Barzani family is responsible for what happened in Federated Kurdistan, said: “Who are the ones killed by the KDP there, our brothers and children? KDP is making Kurds fight against Kurds, just like Turkey does. We do not know the Barzani family, which has Kurdish blood on its hands. They handed over all their belongings to Turkey. He puts his family's interests above all else. We, as Kurds, are struggling for existence. We shout 'We are here'. That's why Kurds need to raise their voices against these attacks. These attacks will not stop by crying and pleading."
Emine Yaşar (73), who defines the attacks in question as "hostility towards Kurds", said: "Every time a Kurd is killed in Bashur (Federated Kurdistan Region), KDP is the one behind it. As mothers of peace, we will do whatever we can against this."
