Kurdish politician Payman Galvani (24), who was detained by the regime forces in Iran on June 25 due to his political activities and was severely tortured in a solitary cell in the Urmia Intelligence Agency Detention Center, passed away. It was stated that Galvani, who was held in a solitary detention room in the prison, was not allowed to meet with anyone, including his family, during the detention period.
Kurdish political prisoner Musa Esmaili (35) from Pasavi village in Pîranşar city was also murdered by torture on July 8 in the Urmiye Intelligence Department. Esmaili was not allowed to meet with his family or lawyers after he was detained on May 7 due to his political activities. It was also forbidden to hold a funeral in the mosque for Esmaili, who was murdered by torture by the regime.
