ŞIRNAK - While thousands of trees were cut down under the supervision of soldiers in Biliga village of Silopiya(Silopi), the villagers who opposed the situation were threatened with "You will be banned from entering the village".
In the Besta, Cudî, Gabar and Cilênimeja regions of Şirnex(Şırnak), the tree cutting started by the rangers under the supervision of the soldiers has been going on for months. One of the areas where tree cutting started is Biliga village of Silopiya district. In the village where thousands of trees were cut under the name of "security" by the gendarmerie, the people condemned the gendarmerie. The villagers, who tried to prevent the cutting of trees, were threatened by the gendarmerie saying, "If you make difficulties, we will ban you from entering the village."
On the other hand, the tree cutting started in the Asuri village of Hesana, located on the outskirts of Cudi of Silopiya, continues. The cut trees are loaded into pick-up trucks and taken out of the city.
