ŞIRNAK - In the lawsuit filed against Police Chief Sırrı Erdoğan, who seriously injured lawyer Serkan Karakaş with his vehicle, his arrest requests were rejected.
The third hearing of the lawsuit filed against Police Chief Sırrı Erdoğan, who crushed Serkan Karakaş, a registered lawyer with Şırnex(Şırnak) Bar Association, on the charge of "deliberately attempting to kill" was held at Şırnak 3rd High Criminal Court. The defendant Erdoğan and the lawyers of the parties were present at the hearing.
There was a short-term tension when the father of the defendant's lawyer wanted to enter the courtroom with a gun. The court allowed the defendant to enter the courtroom after leaving his gun outside upon the objection of Karakaş's lawyers.
At the hearing, which started with identification, the prosecution demanded, in its opinion, to wait for the report from the Forensic Medicine Institute (ATK), to listen to the witness and to continue the judicial control condition applied to the accused.
Defendant Sırrı Erdoğan, on the other hand, stated that his previous statement was valid and claimed that he did not do it on purpose.
'THIS FILE INVITES OTHER EVENT'
Stating that they did not agree with the opinion, Serkan Karakaş's lawyer, Samet Ataman said: "We do not think that a very fair trial was carried out in this file. We know how people are detained and arrested even from a simple suspicion. Unfortunately, despite everything being clear in this file, the accused is not arrested. There is no reason for the accused not to be arrested; however, when it comes to a citizen of Şırnak, this is the approach. He deliberately attempted to kill our colleague. The defendant's free wandering outside of this file invites other events; therefore, we demand the rejection of the opinion and the arrest of the accused.”
REQUEST FOR ARRESTING POLICE WAS REJECTED
After the break, the court board rejected the request to join the lawsuit filed against the defendant for damaging someone else's property before. Deciding to wait for the report from the ATK, the court rejected the requests for the arrest of the accused and postponed the hearing to October 4.
