HATAY - In Hatay, which was destroyed by an earthquake, the rubble cannot be removed due to the lack of search and rescue, and rural areas cannot be reached. Ahmet Şık, from TİP, who is in the region, said: "The state, which does not come to save people, does not come to take out the bodies."
Despite the fourth day, search and rescue efforts in Hatay, whose epicenter was affected by the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş and Gaziantep, could not be carried out at a sufficient level. Since AFAD has set up a small number of tents in the city, most of the people wake up around the fires they lit at the head of the rubble.
While work on most of the rubble has not started yet, there is a serious lack of search and rescue in rubble. There are problems in the entrance of many aid materials sent by volunteers to the city. There is serious congestion on the Antakya ring road due to the rubble on the roads and the heavy traffic of the medical teams. Some of the aid materials sent by volunteers from other cities are not brought into the city by the soldiers. Aid that can enter the city cannot be distributed to those in need due to lack of coordination. Transportation has not been provided to the neighborhoods and villages in rural areas.
'BODIES WILL NOT BE TAKEN OUT BY STATE'
Stating that even these bodies will not be taken out from rubble, Şık said: "I saw the same thing in the August 17, earthquake. I don't know what to do with the bodies mixed in the rubble. People won't even be able to get their bodies. I do not think that the state, which did not come to take people out, won't come to take bodies out from rubble.”
