DİYARBAKIR – TJA made a statement regarding the executions and the massacre of women in Iran: “We call on the whole public to raise their voice so that they see the resistance in Rojhilat as the most legitimate demand of the peoples and that the executions be stopped and their demands accepted.”

The Free Women's Movement (TJA) issued a written statement on the executions and violations against women in Iran. The statement drew attention to the bans imposed on women in public places and said: "In the current situation, in every situation where divorce is recognized as a right only for men, child custody is given directly to the father, women are judges only in family courts, they cannot be prosecutors in any way, the movements of women are supervised at all times and they do not comply with sharia. There is a despotic administration where it is punished."

‘WOMEN CREATED AREAS OF RESISTANCE’

Emphasizing that the pressure on women and society in Rojhilat has increased due to nation-state policies, the statement said: "We, the Kurdish people, who are divided into four parts, have been fighting to liberate our identity for a long time. The Islamic Republic of Iran, on the other hand, has been responding to all kinds of demands of both the Iranian society and the Rojhilat society with violence for many years, just like its neighboring countries.

Women who have been fighting against the obligation to wear the headscarf for many years, turned the streets of Iran and Rojhilat into a field of resistance after the murder of Jîna, and announced the slogan of the Kurdish women's movement 'jin, jiyan, azadi' to the whole world as the word of this rebellion. Today, the Islamic Republic of Iran, which is afraid of this rebellion and the demands of women and society, continues to turn the streets of its own country into a bloodbath and to cut off the young and women who do not give in every day, by execution. Using his right to protest against the murder of Jîna Eminî, 23-year-old Muhsin Şikari was a youth who was first sentenced to death for these protests and was executed on December 8, 2022. Regime forces continue to arrest and execute activists who participate in these protests every day.”

THE EXECUTIONS HAVE TO BE STOPPED!'

Emphasizing the fear of the growing social movement led by women from Rojhilat, the statement continued: “Kurds, Persians, Azeris, Lurs, Baluch and other marginalized identities and beliefs living within the official borders of Iran are justified in their struggle for human rights, freedom and democracy and are fascist. The Islamic Republic of Iran is committing crimes against humanity. As the women of Northern Kurdistan, we see the resistance in Iran and Rojhilat as the most legitimate demand of the peoples and once again express that we stand by them. We call on people to raise their voices for the executions to be stopped and their demands accepted, and we reiterate our promise that we will make the slogan 'jin jiyan azadi' a sign of women's freedom."
