ANKARA - Recalling the Minister of Defense Hulusi Akar's statement about the use of chemical weapons, HDP MP Şevin Coşkun said: "Why are the conditions not created for the independent delegations to leave?"

 

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Muş MP Şevin Coşkun spoke on the Presidential Budget of the 2023 Central Government Budget Law Proposal. Coşkun focused on the attacks of the National Intelligence Organisation (MIT).

Pointing out that the TAF used chemical weapons against HPG members in the operations against the Federated Kurdistan Region and that the images related to this were published, Coşkun said: “Scientist Şebnem, who requested an independent committee to investigate these images, was hastily arrested; however, on December 9, Minister of Defense Hulusi Akar said that a delegation went to investigate on November 24 and that they had a report that no chemical weapons were used. If the delegation was going to go, we ask why was Şebnem Korur Fincancı arrested? Why are the conditions not created for independent delegations to leave? When will the content of the report, which the minister says exists, be shared with the public?"

Noting that the MIT's duty is to protect everyone's interests on the basis of law, democracy and morality, Coşkun said: "There is a solution that will be used for the benefit of the people against the huge budgets that the government allocates to war and weapons under the name of security. This is the start of negotiations with Mr. Öcalan, who said that he will eliminate the possibility of conflict in a week. It is the end of absolute isolation. It is the most legal right to meet with lawyers, family and people who request a meeting with Öcalan. The winners with this will be the peoples of Turkey. It is the end of absolute isolation.
