NEWS CENTER- As part of the Ankara-based investigation, our Ankara office was raided and scores of MA and JINNEWS reporters were detained.
As part of the investigation carried out by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, many Mesopotamia Agency (MA) and JINNEWS reporters were detained during house raids in Ankara, Istanbul, Van, Diyarbakır, Urfa and Mardin. MA reporter Selman Güzelyüz, JINNEWS reporters Habibe Eren and Derya Ren were detained during house raids in Diyarbakır. Many books were confiscated during the search.
It was learned that Derya Ren was taken into custody as part of a different investigation.
OUR EDITOR-IN CHIEF DETAINED
Diren Yurtsever, Editor-in-Chief of our agency, was detained in a house raid in Istanbul. Many books were seized during search. Yurtsever was taken to the Istanbul Police Department on Vatan Street.
OUR ANKARA OFFICE WAS RAIDED
Our office in Ankara was raided. Search in our office continues. MA reporter Zemo Ağgöz and Berivan Altan were detained during house raids. It was also learned that other houses related with our reporters were raided and searches continue.
OUR REPORTERS HANDCUFFED BEHIND THE BACK
Journalists whose houses were raided were handcuffed behind the back. Journalists were kept lyring on the ground for a long time in handcuffs behind their backs. In addition, the computers of journalists were confiscated.
VAN, URFA AND MARDİN
MA reporter Hakan Yalçın was detained during the raid in Van, and Öznur Değer was detained during a raid in Mardin's Kızıltepe district.
Within the scope of the same investigation, MA reporters Emrullah Acar and Ceylan Şahinli were detained in Urfa. All computers, cameras and technical equipment were confiscated during house raids here. The family homes of the journalists in other cities were also raided.
