DİYARBAKIR - HDP and DBP Diyarbakır Provincial Co-Chairs stated that Turkey's operation against the Federated Kurdistan Region with the participation of the KDP is a war and said, "This war will cause great losses to the KDP and to the Kurdish people."

 

Reactions against Turkey's operation in the Federated Kurdistan Region with the partnership of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) continues. Peoples' Democratic Party Diyarbakir Provincial Co-Chair Zeyyat Ceylan stated that the reason for the cross-border operation and the Iraqi Central Government's attacks on Shengal stems from the deadlock in the Kurdish question and said, "They have been trying to solve this problem with war for a century."

 

Underlining that all the hegemonic powers in the Middle East, including Iraq and Turkey, are involved in the attacks against Kurdish lands, Ceylan emphasized that the democratic forces especially the Kurdish people, should loudly oppose cross-border operations. Reacting to the KDP, which took part in Turkey's military operation, Ceylan said, "The Barzani family should be harshly criticized. This war will cause great losses to the KDP first and then to the Kurdish people.”

 

KDP'S DIRTY WAR

 

Reminding Turkey's negative attitude and threats against the Kurds in the 2017 independence referendum of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Ceylan said, "No one should deceive themselves. Both the Kurdistan Regional Government and the KDP are in a big mistake. We want the KDP government's dialogue with Turkey to be based on a solution, we do not want a war that will bring the Kurds against each other. On the one hand, KDP will oppose the oppression of Saddam Hussein, on the other hand, KDP will support the oppression of another state. This is a big contradiction. All Kurds see what is happening today. The KDP has a huge share in this dirty war. The KDP should criticise itself.”

 

'LET'S EXPOSE THE PARTIES OF THIS WAR'

 

Adding that the Kurdish people's culture of resistance in wars goes back many years, Ceylan called on all Mesopotamian peoples, especially all anti-Kurdish forces, that the Kurdish problem should be resolved by peaceful methods. Ceylan said, "All Kurdish people and people on the side of democracy must stand against this war. They should expose the parties of this war.”

 

“THE PEOPLE OF BASHUR WILL TAKE ACTION AGAINST KDP”

 

Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Diyarbakir Provincial Co-Chair Hayrettin Altun emphasized that the KDP played the role of a "collaborator" in the attacks launched by the Turkish and Iraqi Central Governments, adding, "This alliance has a common goal, which is to destroy the Kurdish people."

 

Underlining that they do not accept the role played by the KDP, Altun said, "These operations will make the unity of the Kurdish people stronger. The people of Bashur are currently against Barzani. KDP prevents Kurds from uniting. However, the people of Bashur will oppose the KDP and take action in the face of this situation. I know that the public will not accept this situation because no one can destroy a resistance that has been going on for years. The unity of the Kurdish people will grow stronger with each passing day." 

 

WARNING TO THE KDP REGARDING TURKEY

 

Reminding that Turkey's century-old Kurdish policy is based on rejection and denial, Altun warned the KDP with these words: "The Turks are waiting for the anniversary of the Treaty of Lausanne. They are planning to invade Bashur. But we, the Kurdish people, will not accept this. I believe that the people of Bashur will not accept this either. If the KDP does not accept this fact, it will suffer the most. That's why the KDP should put an end to these dirty policies.”
