URFA - Emine Şenyaşar, who continued her Justice Watch on its 406th day, was taken to the Urfa Police Department for the 16th time on the grounds of "defamation".
The Justice Watch carried out by the Şenyaşar family has reached day 406. The sit-in was launched on March 9, 2021 by Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons as a result of the attack carried out by AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives in the Suruç province of Urfa, on June 14, 2018. The family started the sit-in at the Urfa Courthouse coming from their house in Suruç early in the morning.
The mother said, “Our justice watch is on its 406th day. I don't want to die in front of the courthouse. You murdered my children and my husband in the hospital. My orphaned grandchildren need me”.
Ferit Şenyaşar, who stated that the justice watch has left 406 days behind, said, “There was a massacre in Suruç State Hospital. Everyone from the Governor of Şanlıurfa to the President knows this very well. The statements and the testimony of the doctor is a proof of this massacre."
'MY MOTHER DOESN'T WANT TO DIE IN FRONT OF THE COURTHOUSE'
Emphasizing that her mother has been sitting in front of the courthouse demanding justice for 406 days without interruption, Ferit Şenyaşar continued: “The only thing she wants is for the rule of law to work. When the opposition MPs submit the research proposal regarding the investigation of the incident to the parliament, it is rejected by AKP votes. All MPs who reject this are accomplices of this crime. My mother lost her 2 children and husband. She has been waiting for justice in front of this courthouse for 406 days. She doesn't want to die at the door of this courthouse. She wants to spend the rest of her life with her orphaned grandchildren. Please listen to the voice of this mother, end this persecution."
SHE BLOCKED FOR THE 16TH TIME
While Emine Şenyaşar was staging the sit-in, she was summoned to the Urfa Provincial Security Directorate for the 16th time on the grounds of "defamation". Reacting to this, the mother said, “You are taking us around the police stations. Go take the statement of those who killed my children and leave us alone.” The police threatened the family with detention and told that Emine Şenyaşar should come for a statement. As a result of the meeting of the family attorneys with the police, Emine Şenyaşar was taken to the police headquarters for the 16th time to give a statement on the grounds of "defamation".
It was learned that the mother would not give her statement at the police station as a reaction, but would give a statement at the prosecutor's office. It was not specified to whom Şenyaşar "insulted".
