URFA - Families who lost their relatives in the Suruç massacre visited the Şenyaşar family in solidarity who continue their search for justice in front of the Urfa Courthouse.
Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons in a massacre carried out by the AKP Deputy İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives on 14 June 2018 in the Suruç district of Urfa, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who was injured in the same attack, are continuing the sit in in front of the Urfa Courthouse. The sit in, launched on March 9, is on its 347th day. Families of Suruç families including Socialist Youth Associations Federation (SGDF) Co-Chair Okan Danacı and Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) Co-Chair Beycan Taşkıran, who are in Urfa for the ongoing trial in terms of the fugitive defendants Deniz Büyükçelebi and İlhami Bali, regarding the Suruç Massacre visited the Şenyaşar family during the sit-in.
The family welcomed the delegation. Speaking on behalf of the delegation during the visit, Fethi Aydın, father of Çağdaş Aydın, who lost his life in the Suruç Massacre, stated that they were in Urfa for the hearing, and said, "We visited the Şenyaşar family, who are fighting for justice. We support the struggle of the Şenyaşar family. They are fighting an honorable struggle. We are here to offer some support. We say justice for Suruç, justice for Şenyaşar family."
Ferit Şenyaşar, who took spoke afterwards, stated that the struggle for justice continues under "oppression" and said, "Our sit-in has passed 347 days. Even if a thousand years pass, we will not give up this demand and our sit-in. Suruç Families seek justice for their murdered relatives. The source of all crises in Turkey is injustice. Justice for Şenyaşar family, justice for Suruç, justice for everyone."
After joining the sit-in for a while with the family, the delegation went to the courthouse to attend the ongoing hearing at the Urfa 5th High Criminal Court.
