BİTLİS - The body of HPG member Emrullah Tabak, who died 3 years ago, buried in Bitlis, was exhumed by the police who said that there was a "problem with the DNA".
The remains of HPG member Emrullah Tabak, who died following the clashes in the countryside of Bitlis on 21 March 2017, was buried in the village of Değirmenaltı (Por) after the DNA sample given by the family matched the body.
TEM Branch police officers affiliated with the Provincial Security Directorate came to the village on Wednesday and exhumed the body of Tabak, saying that there was a "problem with the DNA". The police digging was supervised by a doctor who left the village after taking bone and teeth samples.
Speaking to the Mezopotamya Agency, Tabak's relatives said that the policemen had called them the day before and said that the body will be exhumed. The relatives of Tabak stated that the police also summoned a family member to the hospital to take a new DNA sample and that Tabak was seen as alive in the official records.
