NEWS CENTER - Stating that the judiciary is the tool the government punishes people, HDP Co-Chair Mithat Sancar said: "They are attacking as they are losing, and losing more while attacking."

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chair Mithat Sancar held a press conference at the party's Headquarters regarding operation carried out against a large number of people, including members of the Central Executive Committee (MYK), within the scope of the "Kobanê investigation" conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

Sancar said: "Our Kars Municipality Co-Mayor Ayhan Bilgen, our former MP Sırrı Süreyya Önder and a lot of our current MPs have been taken into custody. This was a planned attack. The judiciary is once again used by the government to punish whomever they want. Judiciary in Turkey accepts every word of Bahçeli as an order, releases whom he wants to be released, arrests whom he wants to be arrested. Ofcourse it is not possible to call this a universal judiciary. It is the bat of the ruling party.

GOVERNMENT IS RESPONSIBLE

These operations are carried out using the Kobané protests as a pretext. Despite all their efforts in the last 6 years, they could not find a shred of evidence indicating our party's responsibility. Our party is not responsible for Kobané protests. On the contrary,  it was the political power that announced the attacks of ISIS as heralds and then spread the attacks on the streets and prepared the ground for the spread of violence with the policies they implemented at that time. Both the attitude they assumed against what happened in Kobané back then and their reactions against the ISIS attacks made clear that the government is responsible for the events of October 6-8.

JUNE 7 DEFEAT

Those who could not forget the defeat of the June 7 elections, those who lost power in that election, started a systematic attack with all kinds of smear campaigns against our party, and finally overruled the elections.  He initiated the renewal of the elections at a time of chaos. Then they carried out a major political genocide operation with the removal of parliamentary immunities. Many of our parliament members including our Co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ was arrested as a result.

HDP NEVER SUBMIITED TO PERSECUTION

Attacks continued at various times. But the HDP did not kneel, the HDP did not give up on the fight, on the contrary, it got more determined. HDP's determination is the worst nightmare of the government. Because they know, the real actor that will make them lose is AKP, its determination and the support of the people behind it. The government is not wrong to be intimidated by HDP. Because once again it tasted the defeat in the latest elections because of HDP. They are attacking as they are losing, and losing more while attacking."
