NEWS CENTER- HDP Co-Chair Mithat Sancar stated that that the curfew announced as part of combat against the coronavirus pandemic is contrary to the Constitution and said: “The Minister of Interior should be dismissed. He must fulfill the responsibility of his mistake. If he does not resign, he should be dismissed"

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chair Mithat Sancar announced a live statement on social media regarding the coronavirus pandemic and current developments with his party's Central Executive Committee (MYK) meeting.

'GOVERNMENT DOES NOT VALUE THE HUMAN LIFE'

Sancar spoke adressing to the 2-day curfew declared by the Ministry of Interior Affairs, said, "This is, first of all, against the law. There is no correspongind law for that the curfew decision can be declared by the Ministry of Interior Affairs. The constitution is clear, the laws are clear. The government has openly broke the law with this decision. The government does not value the human life and does not recognize the laws. That is why the pandemic has become a growing danger for Turkey".

'THIS IS NOT A SIMPLE MISTAKE'

"This is not a simple mistake he has done. This is not a simple shortsidedness", said sancar, referring to the statements made by the Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu as he gave an interview to a newspaper regarding the curfews. Sancar made the following comments:
“The Minister of the Interior admits that he could not predict what was coming next, yet he supports the idea that what he has done was the right thing. This is a such a great disobedience that puts hundreds of thousands of people at risk. The Minister of the Interior should resign. He must fulfill the responsibility of his mistake. If he does not resign, he must be dismissed. The governement is not able to manage the crisis. It is also not able to take the necessary measure. This is a matter of perspective. If you had centered the people and society at the core of your policies, you would not be in this position".

'THE GOVERNMENT CAN NOT MANAGE THE PANDEMIC AND THE CRISIS'

Sancar called out to the people with the following speech:

"Our valuable people, this government can not manage the pandemic and the crisis. These words are not even to adequate to describe this inability. Since they do not center the human and the society in the core of their politics, they are not able to consider publich health. This is a matter of perspective. If they were able to manage, then they would take the necessary measures to support the humanitarian needs of the public during the locdowns. And when the threat is so obvious resulted by the fact that workers still continue to go out to work, the production other than the non-essential industry, should no longer continue. Here is the list of the cities leading the pandemic, so that you can understand the underlying circumstances leading to this better: Ankara, İstanbul, İzmir, Bursa, Kocaeli and Zonguldak. These are the centers of the industry. That is, the tens of thousands of workers continue work in th working places where no measure has been taken to protect the health of them. Therefore, since the non-essential production has not been stopped yet, the spread of the pandemic can not be stopped.

PAID ABSENCE FOR THE WORKERS NOW

The workers should be given paid absence starting from now, we have said this from the very beginning of the pandemic. Social and financial support should be given to the people who remains at home. Non of these have been realized. The government should immediately leave this irrespensible and unconscientious attitude. Since the government is so clumsy on the management of crisis, the crisis rather deepens. If they continue this patternü they are not able to reach what they are aimig for. As long as the government does not leave such a perspective, they will never be able to manage any crisis, just like now. The prohibitions and the discrimination, these are what the government always applies. In order to save the economy, they back up the capital.

THE EXECUTION LAW PROPOSAL IS A DEATH-DECREE

We have to stop this government, who throws the people and the public into such a great risk as they do not recognize any law what so ever. We should run the democratic control mechanisms in all possible ways. As for the part of HDP, we are ready to fully commit to our humanitarin responsbilities. We have declared all the time, the government has a malicious intent.

Look, the execution law proposal have been discussed through the last week. The execution law has been turned into a tool, an operation for the government to take down the opposition. This society does not deserve such a malicious understanding and mentality. From now on, the citizens who opposes the government will be sentenced under heavier terms. They also initiate a package targeting the internet and social media. This is such a government we face against, who has no priority other than the prohibitions, the oppression, the cruelty and the defend of the capital.

THEY CHEERED FOR 'İDRİS BALUKEN TO DIE' IN THE RAWS OF AKP

Their evil acts does not come to an end. When we were discussing on the execution law proposal in the parliement and we asked if our MP İdris Baluken should be left to die, the voices from the raws of AKP in the parliement rose: 'Yes, İdris Baluken shall die'. What kind of an evil is that? What kind of a malignancy? Another evil example of the government is to send the remains of the dead body of a person who died in an armed clash within a cargo box to his family. And they asked for the cargo fee! Which belief, which political understanding, which ideology could legitimaze such an act? Non of them. What this should be called is the radical evil.

WE SHOULD SPREAD THE SOLIDARITY, WHICH IS THE DELICACY OF THE OPPRESSED

Whatever the government does or does not, we should spread and deepend the solidarity. We cannot leave the people to the hands of the government. That is why we have initiated the 'Fellow Family Campaign'. This campaing runs really well thanks to our people.  We are building this campaing neighbor by neighbor, block by block. The solidarity is the kindness and the delicacy of the oppressed. That is why we should never let the the carelessness and ruthlessness of the government to stand in our way. We should trust each other. I would like to thank everyone who supports our "Fellor Family" Campaign. I call everyone to increase this campaign. Let's support and defend the public health and our lives all together. Let's dignify the life."
