BATMAN - An investigation has been launched against HDP Provincial Organization, which shared footage of the armored vehicle trying to run over children in Batman with the accusation of "inciting the people to hatred and hostility".

The images of the armored vehicle belonging to the Provincial Security Directorate in the Bağlar District of Batman on Sunday, February 28, chasing children to run them over have made the news after being shared on social media. Instead of starting an investigation against the police officers chasing the children with the armoured vehicle, Batman Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has started an investigation against HDP Provincial Organization with the accusation of "inciting the people to hatred and hostility".

Stating that they expected the police officers to be prosecuted, an investigation was launched against them, HDP Batman Provincial Co-Chair Ömer Kulpu said they were informed by the Provincial Security Directorate that an investigation was launched against them for "inciting the people to hatred and hostility". Pointing out that the officers in charge of the Police Department asked him who was using their social media account, Kulpu said that the footage clearly shows that an arnoured vehicle chased the children to run them over and that they call the authorities to duty.

'THEY STARTED THEIR REFORMS'

Underlining that the citizens living in the area recorded the incident and send them the video, Kulpu said: "The video footage shows what happened clearly. The police are driving the armored vehicle at full speed to run the boy over. We shared this video on our social media account and called the authorities to duty but they chose to start an investigation against us. This clearly reveals the gravity of the situation. Those who announce that they will start reforms regarding human's rights, have already started. Instead of starting an investigation against the police, they started an investigation against us for exposing the situation."

'WE WOULD DO IT AGAIN'

Underlining that they will do the same thing if a footage like that was send to them again, Kulpu said: "They are trying to cover up the negligence. We will do what is necessary in terms of law. No one should think that they will attempt murdering children and get away with it."
