NEWS CENTER - KNK condemned the attack on Zehmetkêşan ya Kurdistanê-Îran, saying it was a continuation of Iran’s policy of violence against Kurdistan.

The Executive Commission of the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) issued a written statement on the attack targeting Komeleya Zehmetkêşan ya Kurdistanê-Îran (Kurdistan Laborers’ Organization) in Sulaymaniyah, in which nine Peshmerga lost their lives. Condemning the attack, KNK extended its condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, their comrades, and the Kurdistan Laborers’ Organization and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.

The statement said: “This attack once again demonstrates that the Islamic Republic of Iran intends to continue its attacks by resorting to force and violence against Kurdistan and regional politics. This attack violates human rights, international law, and the fundamental principles aimed at protecting civilian lives. Such methods can not serve as a means of resolving issues.”

KNK recalled that, during the war period between Israel-The US and Iran, the political forces in the Kurdistan Region and Rojhilat had clearly declared that they would not become party to the conflict or the tensions in the region. The statement nevertheless noted that Iran has continued its attacks and called on all Kurdish forces to adopt a common stance.

The statement said: “As the KNK, we call on all Kurdish forces and parties to act in unity and adopt a common national stance during this sensitive period; stand against pro-war policies, violence, the enemy’s plans, and attempts at occupation. Do not allow such attacks to create tension and division among the different segments of the people of Kurdistan.”

KNK concluded its statement by once again extending its condolences and solidarity to the families of those who lost their lives and wishing a speedy recovery to those injured.
