Numerous detentions again ahead of NATO Summit

NEWS CENTRE – In house raids carried out in Istanbul ahead of the NATO Summit, numerous people were detained, as were many students traveling from Izmir to Ankara to protest the summit.
The Contemporary Lawyers Association (ÇHD) announced that its Istanbul Branch Chair, lawyer Ezgi Önalan, was detained in a raid on her home in the early hours of the morning. The association announced that numerous lawyers' clients were also simultaneously detained in raids.
5 members of the Free University Movement set out from Izmir to Ankara to protest the NATO Summit. The students were detained during a Criminal Record Check (GBT).
