DBP takes to the field: We are building the word of peace with the people
NEWS CENTRE – Under the slogan "We Are Building the Word of Peace with the People," the DBP will spend a month listening to the public village by village, street by street, seeking solutions to problems.
The Democratic Regions Party (DBP) is taking to the field under the slogan "We Are Building the Word of Peace with the People," aiming to establish direct contact with the public, to listen to social problems on the ground, and to jointly strengthen the social basis for peace.
The month-long effort will be launched on 16 June. Within the scope of the work, which will continue until mid-July, the party will come together with the public in villages, neighbourhoods, fields, areas of production, coffeehouses, marketplaces and other settings of everyday life. Meetings with the public will begin along two tracks. Co-Chairs Keskin Bayındır and Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar will be accompanied by provincial and district administrators, Party Assembly (PM) members and city MPs.
Through this effort, the DBP aims not only to identify the public's problems on the ground but also to jointly discuss avenues for solutions and to strengthen the social bonds of democratic politics. At the same time, the meetings are planned to create a broad ground for social dialogue in which the public can directly express its views on peace, democracy and a common future.
A REPORT WILL BE PREPARED
The following topics will be addressed at the meetings:
"* The public's views and expectations regarding the Peace and Democratic Society Process,
* Problems related to agriculture, animal husbandry and the economy,
* Problems faced by young people such as unemployment, drugs and gang formation,
* Threats to nature and ecological living spaces,
* Local social problems and areas of conflict,
* Problems experienced by faith communities,
* Difficulties faced by people living in border regions,
* Topics such as organization and social participation will be addressed directly together with the public."
It was learned that a comprehensive report will be prepared once the meetings have been completed.
The DBP's programme for June is as follows:
* Co-Chair Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar will be in Şirnex (Şırnak) on 16-17-18 June, in Sêrt (Siirt) on 19-20 June, in Mêrdîn (Mardin) on 21-23 June, and in Êlih (Batman) on 24-26 June.
* Co-Chair Keskin Bayındır will be in Colemêrg (Hakkari) on 19-21 June, and in Wan (Van) on 22-24 June.
