President of the Kurdistan Region Nechirvan Barzani met with U.S. Syria Envoy and U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Tom Barrack within the scope of the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum. 

 

After the meeting, Barzani stated that the contact was productive and that the current status of relations between the U.S., Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region was discussed. The meeting also included an exchange of views on recent developments in the region.

 

According to a statement from the Presidency of the Kurdistan Region, the recent situation in Syria and the condition of Kurds in the country were also discussed. It was noted that the impacts of developments in the Middle East and conflicts affecting regional security were also evaluated.

 

The parties, drawing attention to the impacts of the U.S.-Iran war on Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, emphasized the importance of coordination and cooperation to ensure peace and maintain stability in the region. It was also reported that various topics of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting.

 

The Presidency of the Kurdistan Region announced that Nechirvan Barzani will hold a series of meetings with world leaders and high-level officials as part of the forum.
