Tortured citizens in custody again 2020-05-31 17:41:05 MARDİN - 4 people, were were exposed to torture last year after had beeen taken into custody in Mardin's Derik district, were taken into custody again this morning with a police raid in their homes. Bedrettin Özge, Halil Bergin, Aydın Özdurak ve Nezir Demir were taken into custody via the police operations to their homes early in the morning in the rural neighborhood of Çayköy (Şêba Jêr in Kurdish), in Derik district. As the four people in custody were taken to the District Gendarmerie Command, the ground for their custody learned to be about the curfews back in December 17 2019 and the clashes following the curfew. OFFICIAL COMPLAINT FOR THE TORTURE Eight people, including Özge, Bergin, Özdurak and Demir, were detained after the clashES that took place in Çayköy on  December 17 2019. It was then revealed by 8 people had been exposed to rough beatings by stick and battons in the Mardin Provincial Gendarmerie. Two of the tortured citizens had applied to the Human Rights Foundation of Turkey and to the Human Rights Association (IHD), then they have filed an official complaint to the Mardian Office of Public Prosecutor. The report of torture prepared by IHD, revealed that the marks of brutal beatings, caused by hitting with a stick and that there was a strong conviction of torture.
