Armenian politician Akhoyan: Hate language should be abandoned 2019-07-18 10:41:55 VAN - Armenian Parliament former MP Aragats Akhoyan who worked for the cultural meeting of the people of Turkey and Armenia for years said: "Politicians must work for making the relations better, not worse" and stated that the language of hate should be abandoned. Aragats Akhoyan, Former Member of the Armenian Parliament and Founder of the Return Foundation, recently evaluated the reactions of some people regarding the delegations of Armenia visiting People's Democratic Party (HDP).Akhoyan said that politicians should do politics to improve relations, not to worsen them, and that they will continue their visits.     Akhoyan pointing out that Turkey has problems going back 100 years, said: "Turkey has a painful legacy. Not only the countries but the peoples have gone through very painful things. Today, the nations may not have a base for dialogue but the peoples don't have such a problem. As an ambassador of culture, my only objective is to form a collective amongst the peoples. We want to achieve this. I believe that some things can be improved. Politicians have to put forward such policies that the language of hate must be abandoned and left behind. Ofcourse this will be lead by politics, the language of politics. We had the same reaction against us in Armenia when we first came to Turkey. 'What are you going to do Turkey?' There have been reactions, but as these dialogues evolve, discourses have begun to soften: people who are carrying out diplomacy on behalf of the people need to be valued. We need to solve the questions before more arises. Otherwise, as these questions increase, the ways of dialogue become more difficult. "
