Death fast activist Cengiz: We must discuss how to develop the struggle further 2019-06-18 10:26:26   VAN - Erol Cengiz who was on a death fast against the isolation in İmralı for 27 days, said: "Peace, justice and democracy are the demands of all walks of life. We need to discuss how to develop the struggle further in order to achive this."     Erol Cengiz who turned the hunger strike he started on March 1 to a death fast on April 30 against the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, ended his action on the call coming from İmralı on May 26, and was released on June 10 by the court.     Cengiz who continued his death fast for 27 days spoke to Mesopotamian Agency (MA) about his action.      Cengiz who stated that they evaluated the message of Öcalan carefully, said: "We foresaw that they that the AKP-MHP fascism is trying to destroy our resistance and we decided that we should continue our action. We were happy when Mr. Öcalan was visited by his family but we knew that the isolation was not terminated.So we decided to continue with our hunger strike. On May 26, we ended our action together with a message from Mr. Öcalan. If we step back from the struggle, the government will do its best to take away all the gains we have today. For this, we have to constantly take the struggle forward ”.     Cengiz who noted that the message of Öcalan regarding democracy and the 7 article plan he publicly announced should be discussed, stated that : "Mr. Öcalan have made a call for peace and democracy in Turkey. All people should evaluate this message deeply and discuss it. All parties should evaluate and discuss this call well. Peace, justice and democracy are now demanded by all segments. For this, we need to discuss how to take the struggle further. In order for democracy, justice and peace to be fully built in this country, the constant struggle must be kept dynamic and democratic actions must be taken. We will always continue to fight for democracy."
