Gergerlioğlu: The factory where the refugees died was exempt from inspection 2019-06-11 12:26:08 Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu from HDP who brought the fact that Akpınar Textile Factory where 4 refugee workers lost their lives in the fire belongs to an individual who is known to have close relations with AKP and therefore was exempted from inspection, said that the confidentiality order on the case strenthens the allegations.   4 refugee workers lost their lives in the fire that occurred in Akpınar Textile factory in Çayırova district of Kocaeli. Following the murder of the workers, it was revealed that the workers were not registered in the factory, that the necessary occupational safety and precautions were not taken.     HDP Kocaeli Deputy Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu, who conducted a  research on the murder of the refugees, said that this factory also worked during the Eid- el-Fitr and that they have the knowledge that 30 workers were here.   Gergerlioglu who said that the fire was estimated to have come out of the refugee workers' region, said:" 4 refugees said to have lost their lives in the fire. Two of them are a mother and her child according to a fireighter. But no one is willing to reveal their identities." Gergerlioğlu noting that Kocaeli Governership haven't made an explanation yet, said: "Reportedly, there are 5 people injured in the fire. They are still being treated in the hospitals. Press can obtain no information about the incident and there is a confidentiality order on the case.As far as we are concerned, something is being covered up."
