Wife of hunger striker: You designate the step the government takes 2019-04-24 11:03:53 URFA- Tülay Kazıcı, wife of Mehmet Kazıcı, father of 4, who is on hunger strke against the isolation in İmralı, addressed those who invite the government to take responsibility and said: "Have you take action that you are asking the government to do so? You designate the step the government will take."     One of the hunger strikers that joined the hunger strike on March 1 is Mehmet Kazıcı who is on hunger strike for 56 days in Osmaniye No 1 Type T Prison. Kazıcı is arrested due to the accusation of 'being a member of an illegal organization and propaganda' and was sentenced to 9 years and 9 months of prison time.      Tülay Kazıcı, wife of Mehmet Kazıcı, stated that in the 90's their home was raided almost every year and one of the family members was being taken under custody. Kazıcı who stated that there is no one left in the family that was not arrested before,said a little while after his husband was arrested, she recieved the news that her brother in law was killed in the basement where he took refuge in Cizre during the curfews.     Kazıcı said: "According to the government all Kurdish are criminals. All the Kurdish people in all the world are terrorists or criminals. Therefore they have to die. The fact that the Kurdish people they arrested are guilty or not does not matter. Them being Kurdish is enough to make an arrest."   Kazıcı who stated that the government doesn't see the Kurdish as their brothers or citizens, on the contrary, they see the Kurdish as enemies, said: "If we were brothers and sisters there wouldn't be so much oppression and tyranny. Siblings have resposibilities against each other. But the government doesn't fulfill any responsibilities agianst the Kurdish.So, don't say that we are brothers and sisters to me."      Kazıcı who emphasized the importance of the hunger strikes her husband is involved in, and said: "We are concerned about their healths and their lives; but we claim their demands. Their demands are my demands. There is only one way to prevent their deaths and it is to be their voices out here."
