Sister of hunger striker Koç: We should do something before its too late 2019-02-13 11:38:38   İSTANBUL- Cahide Yıldırım, sister of Yüksel Koç, who has been on a hunger strike for 59 days in Strasburg made a call saying: "How long can they endure? Let's get out in the streets hand in hand and do something before its too late."   The hunger strike initiated by Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair and People's Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari Deputy Leyla Güven with the demand of terminating the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan continues expanding. While Güven is in the 98th day of her hunger strike, Nasır Yağız is in his 85th day in Hewlêr' and the hunger strikes of the political prisoners are on their 60th day.   The hunger strike initiated by a group under the name 'Freedom to Öcalan Initiative' in Europe on December 17 is in its 59th day. One of those hunger strikers is Yüksel Koç who has 2 children.   Cahilde Yıldırım, sister of Yüksel Koça who stated that his brother is experiencing health problems especially for the last few days, said they are not able to speak on the phone anymore.   Yıldırım who saluted Leyla Güven, said: "I am sending my love and respect to Leyla Güven. She is our honour."   Yıldırım who underlined that the hunger strikers are at a point where their health got critical, said: "The government is not trying to find a solution. That's why I am calling on to our people for awareness. How long will the hunger strikers hold on? Let's get out in the streets hand in hand. They won't understand us unless we do. We have to do something before its too late. It's in our hand to help our children, our brothers and sisters live."   Yıldırım addressed her brother and said: " I salut you and all the other friends take place in your resistance. I am out in the streets everyday for you. I will do my best helping your resistance. I have one life, let them take it. We will end this isolation."
