‘Bîra Sûrê’ at the Rojava Film Festival 2025-11-18 08:42:39   NEWS CENTER – On the fifth day of the Rojava International Film Festival, Bîra Sûrê (Memory of Sur) and numerous other films were screened for audiences.   The 5th edition of the “Rojava International Film Festival,” held in Qamishlo in North and East Syria, took place under the theme “Shared Stories and Free Cinema.” Yesterday, multiple film screenings were organized at the Mihemed Şexo Culture and Art Center and the TEV-ÇAND Mesopotamia Cinema Hall in Qamishlo.   The fifth day of the festival began with the seminar “Shared Stories – Free Cinema / Çîroên Hevpar – Sînemaya Azad.” The seminar discussed the role of cinema in documenting struggle and offering alternative narratives against attempts to obscure culture.   Afterward, screenings of the films “Hevî”, “Yol”, “Rojava Rûmeta Me ye”, “Hafızm Hayaletlerle Dolu”, “Junks and Dolls”, “Belki Sibe”, “Girls Don’t Cry”, “Rêya Dur”, and “Bîra Sûrê” took place.   The festival will continue until 20 November.
