Investigation against our reporter for reporting on prostitution gang 2025-09-19 15:49:15   ŞIRNEX - Our reporter Zeynep Durgut, who reported on a "prostitution gang" in Şirnex involving non-commissioned officers and specialised sergeants, was investigated upon the complaint of the gang leader Kenan Tatar and his brother Nihat Tatar.    An investigation was launched against our reporter Zeynep Durgut, who publicised a prostitution ring of 25 people in Şirnex in 2013, including members of the Tatar family, a specialised sergeant and a non-commissioned officer. Zeynep Durgut had named Kenan Tatar and Nihat Tatar as the leader of the gang in her news report, which was first published on 24 February. Within the scope of the investigation initiated with the complaint of two names, Zeynep Durgut gave a statement at Cizre Security Directorate Security Branch Directorate with her lawyer.    Zeynep Durgut, who testified on the charge of "publicly disseminating misleading information", stated that the news article in question was based on the indictment of the lawsuit filed against the prostitution gang and that there was no misleading information. Stating that the news was true and aimed to inform the public, Zeynep Durgut stated that she was threatened by the Tatar family after she made the news and that she filed a criminal complaint against those who threatened her in June.
