We must unite and grow organisation for freedom says DBP Co-chair

	ŞIRNEX - Speaking at the congress of his party's Şirnex (Şırnak) Provincial Organisation, DBP Co-Chair Keskin Bayındır stated that they are closer to freedom with the process initiated by Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and said that they can be successful by ensuring Kurdish national unity and increasing the organisation. 

	 

	Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Şirnex Provincial Organisation held its 2nd Ordinary Congress in a wedding hall in the city.  DBP Co-Chair Keskin Bayındır and many representatives of political parties, civil society organisations as well as many citizens attended the congress. The congress started with a minute of silence and the slogan "Şehîd namirin (Martyrs won’t die)" was frequently chanted.

	 

	Speaking here, DBP Co-Chair Keskin Bayındır thanked the current administration and said that the congress would be a new beginning for Botan (Kurdish region in North Kurdistan-Turkey) people.

	 

	'WE WILL PIONEER WORLD PEACE'

	 

	Pointing to the Peace and Democratic Society Process, Bayındır said that all the work of the party was done to open the door to honourable peace and freedom and that this door would lead to world peace. Stating that the process imposes great responsibilities on everyone he said: "Our language and identity are still not recognised. We need to organise against this and grow our unity. In this process, Kurdish unity is as necessary as water and bread. We are obliged to establish our unity." 

	 

	'WE ARE CLOSE TO FREEDOM'

	 

	Bayindir stated that Öcalan's call is for all the peoples of the world: "This call is growing day by day. The call is based on an honourable peace. We are hopeful. Opportunities have arisen for the freedom of the Kurdish people. We are closer to freedom than ever. It is the burden of all of us to achieve this." 

	 

	PUBLIC MEETINGS

	 

	Bayındır said that they organised thousands of "Peace and Democratic Society Meetings" in the context of the process: "During the meetings, we saw that the Kurdish people need unity. All political parties and organisations in Kurdistan should come together under the roof of the Kurdistan National Congress. Öcalan is making a call to all Kurds. We must heed this call and build our unity from Botan." 

	 

	Bayındır said: "We will go to everyone who has not come to our side until today and organise them. This is our duty. Mr Öcalan's call is the longing of all those who fought for the Kurdish people, such as Ahmedê Xanî, Şêx Seîd and Seyid Rıza. Mr Öcalan is leading the centuries-long struggle of the Kurdish people towards freedom. We trust ourselves and lead humanity. Mr Öcalan is leading the way for all humanity."   

	 

	Bayindir reacted to the felling of trees in the region: "Those who are hostile to the existence of the Kurdish people want this war to continue. The trees cut down every day in Şirnex are also an indicator of this hostility." 

	 

	CO-CHAIRS ELECTED

	 

	Following the reading of the annual and financial reports, Pınar Akıl and İbrahim Sakur were elected as DBP Şirnex provincial co-chairs.
