New names to elected to commission upon DEM Party's proposal 2025-08-06 14:32:28 ANKARA – The Peoples’ Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party has proposed a solution for the election of new members to the three vacant seats in the parliamentary commission. With the accepted proposal, three new members will be elected from DEM Party, CHP and AKP.    DEM Party has proposed that three new names be selected for the "National Solidarity, Fraternity and Democracy Commission" established in the Parliament instead of the members allocated to İYİ Party.    According to the information obtained; DEM Party Group Deputy Chairperson and DEM Party coordinator of the commission Gulistan Kilic Kocyigit made a proposal to the commission for the 3 seats left vacant due to the IYI Party's failure to participate in the commission.    PROPOSAL ACCEPTED   Gulistan Kilic Kocyigit stated that it was not correct to make calculations based on the vacant seats and therefore suggested that the 3 vacant seats be reallocated. According to the information obtained, Justice and Development Party (AKP), Republican People Party (CHP), Turkish Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and New Path Party and other parties accepted the DEM Party’s request.    NEW MEMBERS TO BE DETERMINED    At the same time, the parties to which these names to be elected to the commission will fall were also determined by the negotiations made by the parties. Accordingly, DEM Party, CHP and AKP will be given one member each. This proposal will be submitted to the meeting to be held on 8 August and will be decided upon. The parties will then submit the names of their new members to take part in the commission.    With this new situation, the number of DEM Party members will increase from 4 to 5, AKP from 21 to 22 and CHP from 10 to 11.    MA / Mehmet Aslan
