Journalist Gök accused of 'journalistic activities' 2020-10-30 10:22:59 DİYARBAKIR - Journalist Abdurrahman Gök was accused of 'being a member of a terrorist organization' and 'propagandizing a terrorist organization' 2 years later due to his journalistic activities. A prison sentence from 7 years up to 20 years is requested for Gök.   The investigation against journalist Gök who was detained 2 years ago because of his telephone conversations with sources, social media activity and the news he wrote was finalized 2 years later. A law suit was filed against Gök for 'being a member of a terrorist organization' and 'propagandizing a terrorist organization'. The first hearing will be held at Diyarbakır 5th High Criminal Court on February 23.   PHOTOS OF THE REFUGEES..   The text messages where some unknown person asked Gök for the photos he took of the refugees was considered to be an evidence of the crime. The prosecutor evaluated the afformentioned speech between Gök and the person who asked for his photos as an evidence of Gök being a part of the structure called the press committee of PKK/KCK.    Again, the phone call Gök made with an unknown person about some news he saw on Hawar News Agency (ANHA) took its place in the indictment as an evidence of the crime. Prosecutor evaluated the speech as an evidence that Gök is in connection with foreign structure, instructed by the terrorist organization.   HIS SPEECH AT THE JOURNALIST'S DAY   In the indictment, the statements of an anonymous witness called 'Patience' and Gök's speech at the Journalist's Day were included as criminal elements.   In the indictment, which stated that 87 newspapers belonging to various newspapers that were seized during the house search of Gök, did not have any criminal elements, the statement that Gök was not involved in an illegal act and that he was working within the scope of journalism activities was also included.    According to the indictment, a sentence of 7 years up to 20 years were requested for Gök for 'being a member of a terrorist organization' and 'propagandizing a terrorist organization'.
