Detention period of HDP politicians extended 2020-09-28 11:11:31   ANKARA - Lawyers of 20 politicians detained within the scope of the Ankara-based "KobanĂȘ investigation" stated that the testimony at the police has not started and their detention periods will be extended.   20 people, including former Central Executive Committee (MYK) members of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), who were detained on September 25 within the scope of the investigation initiated by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on the grounds of the 2014 KobanĂȘ protests are still being processed. Lawyers of the politicians whose statements were not taken at the police station, stated that their clients will be brought to Ankara Courthouse when the processing is completre and their detention periods will be extended.     Lawyers noted that there was a "confidentiality" order regarding the investigation and that they would appeal to the decision.  It has been learned that the lawyers will also try to meet with the investigation prosecutor.    On the other hand, the lawyers who went to the Provincial Security Directorate in the morning were not allowed to meet with their clients. It was learned that due to the poisoning incident that took place yesterday, Kars Municipality Co-mayor Ayhan Bilgen was taken to the police station for his lawyers to give his medicine.
