'End double standards in forest fires' 2020-09-24 14:57:59 SİİRT - While intervening the forest fires in the region is prevented for security reasons, mobilization is declared for the fires in the western cities. HDP Siirt Provincial Co-Chair YUsuf Batur demanded the double standard to be ended.    The efforts to extinguish forest fires that broke out at the cities like Mardin, Diyarbakır, Şırnak and Siirt is prevented for security reasons. Thousands of trees turn to ash in the region during summer every year.     Fires, many of which broke out after military operations, also kill all living creatures in natural life.   Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Provincial Co-chair Yusuf Batur stated that there are no fire-fighting helicopter in Siirt, and that the efforts of the people participating in the extinguishing work are prevented by the law enforcement units. Batur said: "The spread of these fires is not a coincidence. Otherwise they would have intervened, or at least they would have allow the people try to extinguish the fire. While all these are happening, out forests, our mountains, our nature is burning."   Reminding that action should be taken against those who causes these fires, Batur said: "Is this what's done in the west when there is a fire? We just want the same approach to the forests in the east. Not anything more."
