27th year of Sivas massacre: This year is dedicated to Dr. Behçet Aysan

	SİVAS - The central events for the commemoration of Sivas Massacre was held in Turkey central province Sivas on the 27th year of the massacre where 33 people got killed. This year's events are dedicated to Dr. Behçet Aysan, who is one of the authors killed in the massacre.

	Many non-governmental organizations met today all around Turkey to commemorate the 33 people killed in Sivas Massacre on July 2, 1993 as the central commemoration events was held in Sivas again. Massive crowd, including the families of the victims, gathered in Sivas to demand justice and asked the perpetrators to appear in court.

	The Sivas massacre refers to July 2, 1993 when a hotel in the city, Madımak Hotel, was put on flames and the people inside got trapped, which resulted in the killing of 33 people, mostly Alevi writers, artists and intellectuals who were visiting the city to attend a cultural festival.

	People wore white aprons, on which the photograph of the author and doctor Behçet Aysan was attached, who is one of the 33 people killed in the massacre, as this year's events were dedicated to him.

	OBSTACLE AGAINST THE MEETING REASONED WITH PANDEMIC!

	Sivas Governorate, on the other hand, published a statement regarding the meeting, which has become a stage for the massive march each year and announced that the march would not be permitted.

	However the people insisted on the march and the crowd marched despite the ban. As people raised their demand of justice for the 33 killed people on the 27th year of Sivas Massacre together with the whole day long events in Sivas, it has become a stage for the Alevi community in Turkey to raise their demands of equality and recognition as they suffer greatly from the extremist oppression and Sivas Massacre represents a dark symbol of the discrimination and hatred against them.
